How Mawari Powers Real-Time 3D Streaming for AR Glasses Using Decentralized Compute

[2 min read]

At DePIN Day Singapore 2025, Luis Oscar Ramirez, founder of Mawari, shared how his team is building the infrastructure layer behind a new generation of spatial computing. As AR glasses begin their transition from niche hardware to mass-market devices, Mawari is positioning itself as the network that makes immersive experiences possible — in real time, and at scale.

Mawari’s core product is a decentralized immersive compute network designed to deliver 3D content and AI inferencing to XR devices. Think of it as a content delivery network, but instead of streaming video, it streams interactive, intelligent experiences to augmented reality glasses.

A Network Built for What Comes Next

With the recent launch of Meta’s latest AR glasses, 2025 has been a defining year for the XR space. The long-awaited shift toward lightweight, everyday wearable devices is finally underway and Mawari has been preparing for this inflection point from the start.

In July, the company launched its public DIO and has since onboarded over 145,000 committed nodes to support distributed compute at scale. As demand for real-time immersive content increases, this foundation gives Mawari a head start in building the infrastructure layer for XR and AI convergence.

How It Works

Mawari’s model is two-sided:

  • On one side, AR apps and devices use the network to stream 3D content and run AI processes closer to the edge.
  • On the other, Guardian Node operators contribute compute resources — from consumer machines to more advanced infrastructure — and earn rewards for powering the network.

It’s a system designed for low latency, high interactivity, and geographic distribution — all critical requirements for AR to function smoothly in the real world.

What’s Ahead for 2026

Looking to the year ahead, Mawari is focused on activating its infrastructure through partnerships and real-world applications. With use cases ranging from spatial navigation to real-time AI search, the network is preparing to support the types of experiences that will define the next computing era.

As XR hardware becomes more accessible, the demand for decentralized infrastructure that can deliver intelligent, immersive content — at scale — will only grow. Mawari is building that foundation.
